Well, since I'm skint as hell at the minute I figured I'd try and make the best of the some the resources available to me. I've recenly gutted the hard drive from an old laptop of mine (a compaq evo n400c) to use in a usb caddy so I can move my files around much easier.
Having suspected that my laptop probably wouldn't boot from a usb drive I had left the case for some time. However yesteday, I thought I'd give booting it a shot. And thanks to the magic of
DSL I have been able to use it again - in fact I am posting this message from it as I speak.

Finally, the last fiddly bits of the blog design are coming together, in the future I am going to get far more organised with this and have (probably a series of) templates to cover all basic and advanced formatting. Not doing so is really just lazy.
It's taken some time but I'm nearly ready to actually start blogging again, and you never know I may actually keep this regular!
Soon I'll be adding a gallery of some description (the simpler the better - I really can't stand massive php constructs; they offer the world at the cost of spending three years finding out how to accomplish the simplest of tasks - case in point:
ZenCart), in which I will include photos; personal and arty, as well as my vector art and gnome/xfce themes and wallpapers. It's all go here!

To say it's been a while now since I've posted is a bit of an understatement... it's been a very long time! Just look at the date of the last post - March!
I have been very busy though... as lame as an excuse as that is.
I've decided (I think - see how sure I am?) to discontinue serving time at Derby university... I won't go into details as that's a whole other rant in itself. Suffice to say I have been more and more disappointed with the quality (?) of everything offered by the Creative Writing department. Perhaps a proper critique and explanation will follow... at some point..

I realise that I have been a tad... neglectful of my blog of late but I have been very busy!
On monday of this week it was my 21st birthday (go me!) and I had a fantastic day. Waking up to my grinning girlfriend saying "Open your presents!" was very nice. Then I did have to deal with doing my presentation for Spoken Word (which went very well actually, if I can get around to it I will record it and put it online).
However, after getting that out of the way the day rapidly got a lot better. Culminating in going to Thai Dusit for a lovely meal (which filled us quickly). The best thing was that we didn't even have to ask for a doggy bag - they assumed we'd want one! So after that began a night of drinking, dancing, singing/shouting and revelry at the friary. A good night indeed!
Anyway, must stop now as I have coursework to do:

Just ducker here looking dapper as ever. I think he's also got that perfect Indie boy look, the slight biting of the lower-lip to suggest he's just about to start singing James... Blunt. The scarf just completes the look.

After a chat with my housemate, we are considering adding a fairly chunky part to the site, dedicated to reviewing various services available in Derby for students. Honestly, this idea came from a very clever chap I went to Sixth Form with.
Graham has really gone to town with his
Manchester Student Guide, check it out if you're from or at Uni in Manchester yourself.

The links in this post are old - they will be updated.. sometime
Well, it has been some time now since I last posted, first of all I guess welcome to the new year. If it had escaped anyone's notice - it's now 2007. Which is lovely.
You may have noticed the site's gone a bit weird at the moment and odd looking, well that's largely because I have made so many website designs now that I've ground to a halt and can no longer think of where to go next. Perhaps when I have some more of my Creative Writing work done I will try something...

Why?
What possible benefit could I get from having a constantly refreshing image of the Kedleston road atrium in my student login? I mean, I suppose it's kind of novel but that's it...
Just odd.
You may need to be a Derby student to see this but try and
check it out anyway.

Dreamhost, the company I use to host this blog put out a newsletter today and I just had to share a part of it with the world.
The main content of the letter was dedicated to a bit of a change regarding how customers can pay through google now. The quote below was what really made me laugh:
"Why would you use Google Checkout? Because you love Google. Hadn't you thought of that? And I think we don't pay any credit card processing fees until January if you do. So think of all that extra money you're making us, which we can spend on more bandwidth, disk, servers, power, cooling, employees, rewards, and blow."
Timeless.

What a brilliant picture of Liz and Ducker, their expressions are perfect!
If only Ducker's face was not slightly blurred... and if only my phone could do mosaic shots in a bigger size.
Oh well, for a phone it's not too shabby.
